1st Quarter 2018
I am so very exciting about all the things that are happening here at Trinity UMC. We are laying the groundwork now to further the kingdom of God! I have a lot to share with all of you so please take a moment to look all of this over.
By the numbers...
I recognize that we are taking some risks here at Trinity in order to restart ministry in our church. Part of the reason we are doing this is to turn our current decline around. The most important aspect through is to show the love of Jesus to our community, one person at a time if need be. Here are some numbers that you all should be proud of.
Seek Report- Jackie Zlaty
All after church bible study classes finished up their studies about Christian living prior to Ash Wednesday.
All after church bible study classes resumed with a study on the Rebel Jesus. The study is The Renegade Gospel; denying all our pre-conceived notions about what God should look like. This study directly paralleled the sermons from Sunday mornings and lasted for the entire Lenten season.
The children continue to work out of a new study called “Orange.” This is an exciting way to bring the bible to life. The studies help the children see God for who He is and helps them see themselves the way God sees them, so that they can love others the way God does. We still need more people to help in this area!
Identity was split for 6 weeks, into men’s and women’s studies. The Identity Men were studying ‘Twisting the Truth’, a 6 weeks study by Andy Stanley. There was an average attendance of 6 per week for the Men’s study.
The Identity Women were studying ‘Stuck’ by Jennie Allen. This study explored the things that keep us from having a right relationship with God. There was an average attendance of 16 per week for the women’s study. There were 4 participants who are not currently members of our church. One of these participants also came to the Maundy Thursday meal and the Good Friday Service.
Currently, we will remain in an all church bible study after church on Sunday’s. We will be learning about “Why Is Grace So Amazing?”
The Thursday night Identity group will be for anyone to attend. We will be focusing on “The best question ever.”
In the future……. I have scheduled a Fall Women’s Retreat for Saturday, November 3rd. This is an all day women’s retreat.
Allison, from Asbury UMC is going to have the VBS director reach out to us about partnering with them for VBS.

The fellowship hall was packed with about 150 people including kids & parents. We gave away 8 bikes and various other prizes. We served drink boxes, chips and cookies prepared by the church people. This was the most rewarding Nurture event we have had to date! These kids really enjoyed! My heart melted a few times. We showed a video before the hunt. I was a short fun description of Easter from a child’s perspective. 2 families from the Easter Egg Hunt were visitors the next day for the Easter Service. Also, the cashier from Walmart that checked out some of the prizes for the hunt brought her family to the Easter Service.
